Baptism Day

So much JOY.

So much.

Choosing to dig into and adhere to the words of Jesus Christ is the best decision I've ever made.

There is a movement, within the membership of the LDS Church (and increasingly outside of it, as members otherwise in full good standing are excommunicated for "apostasy"), to once again rely on the scriptures as the definitive Word of God. To trust the words of Jesus Christ over anything contradictory spoken by man. Thousands have been baptized according to the Doctrine of Christ, and it's not slowing down, despite heavy-handed disciplinary actions and top-down ordered excommunications by LDS leadership, in direct contradiction to their own press releases and scripture. (There's a whole rat's nest of plausible deniability, due to Area Authority 70's not necessarily being considered "general authorities", but I won't go into that here.)

This is the stone cut out of the mountain without hands . . . all believers, everywhere, seeking God on His terms, and seeking to do His will. It is happening in all denominations, all over the world. The LDS Church is no exception.

Yesterday was an incredible day . . . and I will treat it as the celebratory occasion it was. Hallelujah for Jesus Christ, our Lord, and His wonder, glory, and love for us!

I welcome questions, concerns, and freak-outs . . . once again, this blog is a platform for open discussion, and an earnest and simple offer to seek understanding, instead of take refuge in gossip and hearsay.

Peace be to you Reader, whoever you are, in Jesus' name, so be it.

  2. Thank the Lord God for allowing us the opportunity to search after His Son Jesus and follow His example in all things. These are amazing times we live in...the restoration continues and I admire the faithful application of the scriptures by Vern and Annalea. The Holy Spirit is moving again throughout the whole earth. Christians everywhere unite! God is Love and those that love Him are free to live and worship Jesus without fear...especially fear of any man or institution that would compel them to believe otherwise. Jesus lives!! and He is the author and finisher of our faith!

  5. The words of the prophet Joseph come to mind.... We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
Those who truly believe recognize this privilege and glory in it. Thank you for your courage in seeking and standing for truth.

  7. I'm sorry, brighamyoung65. I've totally missed the part where my family is starting a church . . .

We aren't any manner of -ites. Just following Jesus.

We have no leader, no man we're relying on. No one is claiming anything but what Joseph Smith taught . . . so if you have to paste a label on us, maybe Josephites would be a good one. ;o)

God bless you as you seek Him!

  8. Put me down in the "concerned" category, I guess. But I'm happy that you're happy!

I welcome questions and concerns--they are most often what spur us closer to the truth. I only ask that we all give everyone the most generous benefit of the doubt, assigning the best motives possible. A soft answer truly does turn away wrath, and an atmosphere of Jesus's love is the best for learning, no matter which side of a discussion you're on.

Thanks so much, and God bless you!
